Compare MONEYME personal loans in Australia: $5,000–$70,000 over 3–7 years. Review interest rates, fees and eligibility. Subject to approval.
Review basis: Researched on 30 October 2026 using MONEYME’s official personal loan page, pricing disclosures, FAQs, eligibility guidance, Target Market Determination, Credit Guide, Privacy and Credit Reporting Policy, hardship information and complaints procedure. Company identity was checked against ABN Lookup. Pricing below follows the direct personal-loan website; a separate pricing commencement date was not identified. Broker charges may differ.
MONEYME personal loan: rates, fees and eligibility
- Provider: Direct lender MoneyMe Financial Group Pty Ltd, ABN 40 163 691 236. Its Credit Guide identifies Australian credit licence 442218.
- Loan: Unsecured borrowing of $5,000–$70,000 over 3–7 years, subject to approval, for personal expenses, purchases or debt consolidation.
- Interest and comparison rate: Personalised variable interest, described as APR, from 6.24% to 26.35% p.a.; published comparison rates from 6.95% to 27.74% p.a. The lowest advertised pricing is for excellent credit profiles. Comparison rates use specified assumptions and may exclude some charges.
- Fees: $10 monthly; establishment fee $0–$495 depending on credit profile and amount. Missed-payment and other conditional charges may apply. Extra repayments and early payout carry no fee.
- Security and insurance: No asset security required. No compulsory insurance requirement was identified in the reviewed product disclosures; check your contract.
- Eligibility: Current FAQs specify age 18+, employment income above $30,000 a year, qualifying residency and an average credit score or better without bankruptcy. Affordability and verification checks apply.
- Application: Online or through the MONEYME app, with a personalised quote before applying. Repayments can be fortnightly or monthly; redraw is unavailable.
- Our assessment: Worth comparing for borrowers who want unsecured funding and repayment flexibility. The main limitation is that personalised pricing, ongoing fees and rate changes can substantially affect the total cost.
Alexander Balanoff on MoneyMe
With MONEYME, I would compare costs over the time I actually expect to keep the loan. Fee-free early repayment is useful, but any establishment fee still matters: there are fewer months for a lower interest rate to offset that upfront cost. At LoanXP, we encourage comparing everything paid by your intended repayment date plus the estimated remaining payout across lenders. I would also retain an emergency buffer. MONEYME has no redraw, so money paid ahead cannot be withdrawn if an unexpected bill arrives.
MONEYME personal loan eligibility and documents
The current MONEYME FAQs require applicants to be at least 18, earn more than $30,000 a year from employment, and have an average credit score or better with no bankruptcy on their credit report. Meeting these conditions does not establish affordability or approval.
Residency discrepancy: The FAQs specify Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens or permanent residents and exclude temporary-visa applicants. However, the linked July 2025 Target Market Determination also mentions acceptable work visas. Temporary-visa holders should obtain confirmation from MONEYME before making a full application.
Prepare government-issued identification, face verification, employment and income details, monthly expenses, bank details and 90 days of bank statements. MONEYME assesses income, living costs, existing obligations and credit information. Its eligibility guidance describes electronic statement retrieval with consent and an emailed-statement alternative that may take longer.
Who should consider a MONEYME personal loan?
Our assessment is that this loan suits an affordable, defined expense where you want to avoid pledging an asset and may repay ahead of schedule. Compare its personalised offer with other unsecured personal loans using the same amount and repayment term.
Reconsider if you need less than $5,000, require fixed repayments or expect to access extra repayments later. There is no redraw facility. For a vehicle purchase, compare car finance options while accounting for any security requirement.
For debt consolidation, compare the new total repayment with the remaining cost of your existing debts. A lower instalment can conceal a longer and more expensive repayment period.
How the MONEYME application works
Quote, assessment and agreement
- Request a quote: MONEYME advertises a personalised rate and repayment estimate without affecting your credit score.
- Proceed to an application: Supply your financial information and complete identity, income and credit checks. A quote or conditional offer is not final approval.
- Review the contract: Check the amount received, financed fees, variable rate, repayment schedule and total repayment before accepting.
- Repay the balance: Choose an available fortnightly or monthly schedule and retain enough cash for essential expenses.
MONEYME’s credit reporting policy explains that a full application may generate a recorded credit enquiry and affect your score. Read the collection and bank-data permissions at the stage where they are requested.
How long does approval take?
MONEYME advertises quotes in around 90 seconds and approvals in as little as 60 minutes. These are advertised times, not commitments for every applicant. Additional checks, missing information, business hours and the receiving bank can delay the outcome or payment. Avoid committing to a purchase before funding is confirmed.
Contact, repayment support and complaints
Contact MONEYME on 1300 669 059 or hello@moneyme.com.au. If repayments become difficult, use its financial hardship process to discuss reduced payments, a pause or changed terms, subject to assessment. Ask how any arrangement changes interest, the repayment period and total cost.
Send complaints to complaints@moneyme.com.au. If unresolved or you are dissatisfied with the response, MONEYME’s complaints procedure identifies the Australian Financial Complaints Authority: AFCA, 1800 931 678.
Questions to ask before accepting an offer
- What are my personalised interest rate, comparison rate and total repayment for the amount and term offered?
- Is the establishment fee added to the balance, deducted from the payout or paid separately, and does it attract interest?
- How would a rate increase change my instalments or repayment period?
- Does the repayment shown include the monthly fee, and what additional charges apply to my payment method or application channel?
- If I pay extra, how does that affect the remaining term, and what emergency savings will I retain without redraw?
- If consolidating debt, who settles the existing accounts and what closure or payout charges remain?
MONEYME personal loan advantages and limitations
- Quote before committing: Seeing personalised pricing helps you compare offers before proceeding to a full credit application.
- Repayment flexibility: Fee-free extra repayments can reduce interest, provided your budget supports them.
- No pledged asset: The unsecured structure avoids providing specific collateral, but the debt remains enforceable.
- Variable pricing: The starting rate is not available to everyone, and the rate can change during repayment.
- Recurring cost: The monthly fee continues to matter even where the establishment fee is waived.
- No redraw: Money paid ahead cannot be withdrawn again through the loan.
MONEYME interest rates, fees and total cost
The published variable interest range is 6.24%–26.35% p.a., with comparison rates of 6.95%–27.74% p.a. MONEYME uses APR to describe the annual interest rate; the comparison rate separately incorporates interest and relevant fees. Neither replaces your personalised repayment schedule.
- Establishment: $0 for an excellent credit history; otherwise $395 for loans up to $15,000 or $495 for larger loans.
- Account fee: $10 monthly. Calculated over an unchanged full term, that is $360 over three years, $600 over five or $840 over seven, before interest and other fees.
- Early payout: No fee for extra repayments or repaying early.
- Missed payments: The FAQs disclose a $15 dishonour fee and a $35 overdue-account fee after seven days, repeated every 14 days until arrears clear or the stated $210 cap is reached.
- Other conditional charges: The Target Market Determination lists broker establishment and payment-card fees where applicable. Their amounts were not verified for an individual offer.
No compulsory insurance premium was identified in the reviewed loan disclosures. If insurance or another add-on appears in your offer, establish whether it is optional and check its price, exclusions and cancellation terms.
Official repayment example
MONEYME’s published example uses $30,000 over five years at 9.44% p.a., with a 10.82% p.a. comparison rate, a $495 establishment fee and a $10 monthly fee. It states monthly repayments of $649.56 and total repayments of $38,973.48.
Our calculation reproduces that total when the establishment fee is financed and the interest rate stays unchanged. Multiplying the displayed, rounded monthly payment by 60 gives a total $0.12 higher. This example is not a personalised offer; rate changes, payment timing or additional charges can change the result.
Comparison rates apply to their stated example and may exclude some fees. Different amounts, terms or charges can produce different comparison rates. For your decision, compare cash received, total repaid and monthly affordability together.
Is a MONEYME personal loan worth comparing?
Our verdict: MONEYME is worth comparing when you qualify for an affordable personalised offer and value early-repayment flexibility. Its strongest feature is the ability to check pricing before applying and then repay ahead without an early-payout fee. Its main limitation is the combination of variable interest and recurring charges.
The decisive comparison is the total repayment for the same borrowing amount and term, with room in your budget for higher repayments. A quick approval or low advertised starting rate should carry less weight than that calculation.
MONEYME personal loan FAQs
How much can I borrow, and does choosing a longer term improve the offer?
MONEYME advertises $5,000–$70,000 over 3–7 years, subject to assessment. A longer term can reduce instalments while increasing interest and monthly account fees. Compare offers using the same amount and repayment period: a seven-year MONEYME quote and a five-year bank quote are not directly comparable on monthly repayments alone. Check whether any financed establishment fee increases the balance above the cash you receive.
Is MONEYME cheaper than a bank personal loan once fees are included?
That depends on your personalised offer. MONEYME’s published direct-loan fees include $10 monthly and an establishment fee of $0 for excellent credit history, otherwise $395 up to $15,000 or $495 above that amount. Calculated illustration: a $5,000 loan kept for three years with a $395 establishment fee incurs $755 in establishment and monthly fees alone, assuming unchanged charges. Interest is additional. Compare total repayments and cash received, because a lower interest rate can be outweighed by fees.
Should I choose MONEYME’s variable rate or a fixed-rate personal loan?
MONEYME’s rate is variable, so the initial repayment estimate may change. A fixed-rate alternative offers greater repayment certainty, but its early-payout conditions also matter if you expect to repay ahead. Ask MONEYME to show the repayment effect of a higher rate, then compare that budget exposure with the fixed lender’s total cost and exit charges. Compare the rate offered to you, rather than either lender’s advertised minimum.
Can I compare a MONEYME quote without affecting my credit score?
MONEYME says its initial personalised quote does not affect your score. A full application is different: its credit reporting policy explains that an enquiry may be recorded and affect your score. Use the quote stage to compare pricing, and check where each competing lender moves from an estimate to a formal credit application. A quote or conditional offer is not final approval; verification can affect the outcome.
Is MONEYME suitable for bad credit, or should I compare other lenders?
MONEYME’s current FAQs specify an average credit score or better and no bankruptcy on the credit report. It should therefore not be treated as a lender offering approval regardless of credit history. Ask whether your particular adverse entry is acceptable before submitting a full application. When comparing alternatives, check whether a lower repayment requires a longer term, additional fees or asset security; easier eligibility alone does not establish better value.
Can self-employed borrowers qualify, and what makes their comparison different?
MONEYME says it considers self-employed applicants after verifying business income and positive cash flow. Its application checklist includes 90 days of bank statements, although further information may be requested. Business turnover is not the same as money available for personal repayments. Ask how seasonal income, business expenses and tax commitments will be assessed. Compare lenders on both their evidence requirements and their personalised total cost, rather than assuming the largest borrowing estimate is the best offer.
Can I repay or refinance early, and withdraw extra repayments later?
MONEYME permits extra repayments and early payout without a fee, but its Target Market Determination states that redraw is unavailable. Extra payments cannot subsequently be withdrawn through the loan. Refinancing elsewhere can still involve the new lender’s establishment fees, so compare those costs with the remaining interest and fees you would avoid. Keep a separate cash buffer before using savings to accelerate repayment.
When would consolidating other debts with MONEYME actually save money?
Consolidation saves money only when the new borrowing costs less than the debts it replaces on a comparable repayment plan. Request current payout figures, include existing exit charges and MONEYME’s fees, and compare the remaining total repayments. Extending a debt with two years remaining into a five-year loan may reduce the instalment while increasing overall cost. When comparing debt consolidation options, also establish who pays the old creditors and whether their accounts will be closed.
What happens if I miss a repayment, and does hardship assistance stop the charges?
MONEYME’s FAQs disclose a $15 dishonour fee and a $35 overdue-account fee after seven days, repeated every 14 days until arrears clear or the stated $210 cap is reached. That cap concerns the overdue-account fee, not the entire debt or interest. Contact 1300 669 059 about hardship assistance. Ask whether interest or fees continue under the proposed arrangement and how it changes the final repayment date; a payment pause does not itself establish that charges stop.
