SRG Finance
Compare SRG Finance short-term loans: $500–$3,000 over 3–7 months. New customers: up to $2,000. Review fees and eligibility. Subject to approval.
Review basis: Researched on 4 November 2026 using SRG Finance’s personal-loan page, FAQs, credit guide, promotional pricing page, application and privacy information, and support sources linked below. This review covers its short-term personal loan. Published terms are distinguished from LoanXP’s editorial assessment; no application was submitted or personalised quotation obtained.
The main product page supports repayment over 3–7 months. The pricing page carries a 2016 copyright footer without a pricing effective date, so its advertised fees are not treated as a verified current quotation. A current product-specific APR, comparison rate and complete fee schedule could not be verified. ABN Lookup confirms the company’s active ABN and SRG Finance business name. SRG publishes Australian Credit Licence 390343; its current licence status was not independently confirmed through ASIC’s register.
SRG Finance short-term personal loan: summary
- Provider: SRG Finance is the lending business of SRG Financial Solutions Pty Ltd, ABN 47 111 739 087.
- Purpose, amounts and terms: Personal expenses, including unexpected bills. Its credit guide lists $500–$3,000, with first-time personal-loan customers limited to $2,000. The main product page advertises 3–7 months, depending on the amount and assessment.
- Interest and fees: Current product-specific interest, APR and comparison-rate figures were not verified. An undated promotional page advertises up to 20% establishment and 4% monthly management fees. Confirm the applicable charges in writing; these percentages are not an annual interest rate.
- Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 18, be Australian citizens or permanent residents, meet residence and income requirements, and pass credit and affordability checks. Occasional defaults may be considered. Pension applications have separate restrictions.
- Insurance: No compulsory insurance requirement was identified in the reviewed product information. Confirm any proposed cover and its cost before accepting.
- Application: Apply directly online or call 1300 774 562. Same-day funding is conditional on approval, completed documents and bank processing.
- Suitability and limitation: Potentially relevant for a one-off expense repayable within several months. Its principal limitation is incomplete current pricing disclosure, making a written total-repayment quotation essential.
Alexander Balanoff on SRG Finance
With an SRG Finance short-term loan, I would compare the total repayment over the agreed term with the cost of settling early. If monthly fees are calculated on the original amount borrowed, they may stay the same while your balance falls. I would ask SRG to confirm the calculation and show which charges would stop after an early payout. At LoanXP, we encourage comparing those figures with another offer for the same amount and repayment dates. The useful question is how much you pay to use the money for the time you actually need it.
SRG Finance eligibility and documents
The personal-loan criteria require:
- Age 18 or over and Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
- Evidence of at least three months at your current address.
- Income deposited into your bank account by an employer or an eligible Centrelink pension, supported by 90 days of bank statements.
- A satisfactory credit assessment. Occasional defaults and discharged bankruptcy may be considered; undischarged bankruptcy and current Part IX or Part X arrangements are excluded.
The FAQs additionally specify 100 points of identification, at least three months of regular employment for employed applicants, and no more than two bank-account overdraws during the preceding three months. Meeting these conditions does not establish approval: SRG assesses whether the requested borrowing suits your circumstances and repayment capacity.
Who should consider this short-term loan?
SRG may suit someone with a specific expense and enough income remaining after essentials and existing debts to clear the borrowing within several months. Its willingness to assess some applicants with previous defaults gives those borrowers a route to consideration.
Reconsider if repayments would depend on another loan, uncertain overtime or repeatedly postponing bills. A short term concentrates repayment into fewer pay cycles; a small borrowing amount can still create a substantial commitment.
For essential purchases or repairs, check eligibility for a No Interest Loan, which has no interest or fees and pays the supplier directly. A bill-provider payment arrangement may also avoid borrowing. If you need more time, compare personal loans with longer repayment terms using both the instalment and total repayment.
How an SRG Finance application works
Application and assessment
The direct application form asks for your requested amount, purpose, personal and contact details, address history and housing costs. You must acknowledge the credit guide and application terms. SRG then assesses supporting information and contacts you about the outcome.
Its credit-check terms authorise credit-report enquiries and specified information exchanges. The privacy policy describes information use for assessment, account administration and debt collection. Review the consent presented during your application before submitting.
If approved, review the proposed contract, complete the documents and nominate your bank account. Repayments are collected by scheduled direct debit.
Approval and funding times
SRG’s FAQs describe approval as usually taking around two hours after the required information arrives, with longer processing possible. Its main-site funding condition requires documents completed by 3.30 pm EST, subject to the receiving bank. Another promotional page states 3 pm. Confirm the applicable cut-off; neither submitting the form nor receiving approval establishes when funds will become available.
Questions to resolve before signing
- How much will reach my account, and what is the total amount repayable, including every compulsory charge?
- Which pricing structure applies to my amount, particularly if borrowing above $2,000?
- Are monthly fees calculated on the original amount, and how many will be charged under the repayment dates?
- What happens after a failed direct debit, including fees, collection action and hardship options?
- What would I owe if I settled early, and which future charges would stop?
- Does the offer require security or insurance? If insurance is proposed, what are its premium, exclusions and cancellation conditions?
SRG Finance advantages and limitations
- Individual credit assessment: Previous defaults do not automatically rule out consideration, although repayment capacity and other criteria still apply.
- Direct application and support: Borrowers can approach the lender online or by telephone without using a referral platform.
- Restricted first loan: The advertised $3,000 ceiling is unavailable to first-time personal-loan customers.
- Compressed repayments: The advertised term may be unsuitable if your budget needs a longer repayment period.
- Pricing uncertainty: Public material does not establish a complete, dated current cost schedule. Some pages also contain inconsistent timing and eligibility wording.
SRG Finance interest, fees and total cost
SRG’s promotional page states charges of no more than a 20% establishment fee and a 4% monthly management fee. It carries a 2016 footer, covers multiple loan sizes and supplies no pricing effective date. Its current applicability to this product, particularly amounts above $2,000, remains unverified.
The existing “48% interest” claim is not substantiated by the official product sources checked. Multiplying a 4% monthly fee by 12 does not establish an annual interest rate, APR or comparison rate. It also omits the establishment charge.
For a contract legally classified as a small amount credit contract, the National Credit Code, sections 23A and 31A, prohibits interest charges and limits permitted establishment and monthly fees. These legal limits do not establish SRG’s actual pricing and should not be applied across its entire advertised range.
Illustration: $1,000 with six monthly fees
Illustration only, not an SRG quotation: Assume you receive $1,000, pay a 20% establishment fee of $200 and incur six monthly fees of $40, each calculated on the original $1,000. Fees total $440 and total repayment is $1,440. Six equal monthly instalments would be $240.
This calculation assumes charges are repaid through the instalments, no interest or insurance, no other charges and all payments on time. Actual repayment frequency, fee timing and approved terms may differ. Under these assumptions, extending borrowing by another chargeable month adds $40 even as the balance falls.
Current default, dishonour and other contingent charges were not verified. No compulsory insurance was identified in the reviewed product criteria. SRG’s proposed-contract information is a general information statement, not an individual price schedule. Obtain the actual pre-contractual disclosures and repayment schedule before accepting.
Verdict: compare the written cost before choosing SRG
SRG’s strongest feature is its stated willingness to assess borrowers whose credit history is imperfect. Its main limitation is insufficient current pricing detail to establish value against competing offers. Compare the cash received, total repayment and payment dates with other short-term borrowing options. For an eligible essential expense, a No Interest Loan warrants checking first.
SRG Finance short-term loan FAQs
How much can a first-time customer borrow, and over what term?
SRG’s personal-loan page limits first-time customers to $2,000, despite advertising up to $3,000 overall. Published terms are 3–7 months, depending on the amount and assessment. When comparing providers, check their first-loan limits and available terms: a larger advertised maximum may apply only to returning customers, while a longer term may reduce instalments but increase total cost.
Is SRG Finance cheaper than other short-term lenders?
The public information checked does not establish that. An SRG promotional page advertises up to 20% establishment and 4% monthly management fees, but carries a 2016 footer without a pricing effective date. Obtain a current quotation showing the cash received, repayment dates and total payable before comparing short-term loan options. A 4% monthly fee is not a 48% annual interest rate or comparison rate, and the advertised fee structure should not be assumed to apply to every loan amount.
Can I qualify with defaults or a discharged bankruptcy?
SRG says occasional defaults and discharged bankruptcy may be considered, but its personal loan requires a credit check. Its published criteria exclude undischarged bankruptcy and current Part IX or Part X arrangements. This makes the type and status of a credit problem more useful for comparison than a broad “bad credit accepted” claim. Statements about SRG’s separate cash-advance product do not establish a no-credit-check option for this loan.
Does SRG accept all Centrelink payments, or only pensions?
Its personal-loan FAQs describe a $500 loan over three months for pensioners and exclude other government-benefit recipients. Broader promotional wording requires employment, so confirm the pension option remains available. When comparing lenders, establish whether they accept your specific payment as the main income source or only alongside employment income; “Centrelink accepted” does not answer that distinction.
Can self-employed or recently employed applicants qualify?
SRG’s published employment criteria require at least three months of regular employment, with income deposited by the employer. A separate assessment route for self-employed applicants was not verified. Business deposits should therefore not be assumed to satisfy the employment requirement. Before submitting an application, establish whether SRG accepts your income arrangement and what evidence it requires; another lender’s self-employed criteria cannot be applied to SRG.
Can bank-account conduct affect approval even if my credit history is acceptable?
Yes. SRG’s FAQs specify no more than two account overdraws in the preceding three months, making recent account conduct a separate eligibility consideration. They also require three months of statements through the Decision Logic verification system and access to internet banking. A paper-statement alternative was not established. If either condition is a problem, clarify it before applying rather than relying solely on the lender’s willingness to consider previous defaults.
Would repaying SRG early reduce the total cost?
SRG allows extra repayments by prior arrangement, but an extra payment and full settlement can have different effects on charges. For a small amount credit contract, section 31C of the National Credit Code prohibits monthly fees for months beginning after payout. This does not establish a refund of the establishment fee. Compare a dated settlement figure with the remaining scheduled payments, and confirm the rules for your contract type rather than assuming every SRG loan has identical early-repayment costs.
Can SRG change repayments if my income falls?
SRG says alternative payment arrangements can be discussed. Contact 1300 774 562 or admin@srgfinance.com.au and request hardship assistance. Under ASIC’s hardship guidance, a credit provider with sufficient information generally has 21 days to notify you of its decision; requesting additional information changes the timetable. Ask how any arrangement affects fees and the final repayment date. Free financial counselling is available through the National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007.
Do I have to wait 45 days before escalating an SRG complaint?
Do not treat 45 days as the applicable deadline for every complaint. SRG’s complaints page states that period for general complaints, while ASIC’s RG 271 generally requires a response to standard complaints within 30 calendar days, subject to exceptions. Different rules apply to hardship and certain other credit complaints. Raise the issue with SRG first; if its response is unsatisfactory or delayed, contact AFCA on 1800 931 678 about escalation.
