Federation University in Australia offers a range of scholarships, bursaries and grants to assist students when they want to further their education.
Kickstart is FedUni’s online registration tool that allows students to apply for scholarships, bursaries and grants and enrol at the University campus. The online loan application process can be completed online. There are a number of different financial assistance options these include:
Scholarships
There are a few different scholarship options available for those students that want to study at FedUni for both international and domestic students.
FedUni offers scholarships for academic excellence, scholarships for overcoming adversity, scholarships for community engagement and for leadership performance abilities.
Bursaries
Bursaries are offered to students that are struggling financially each semester to help students pay for course fees and other expenses associated with education. Once a student has completed the Kickstart student loan application they will automatically be considered for a bursary and if they are awarded one, they will be notified before the next census date.
International scholarships
Scholarships are awarded to international students who plan to study at Federation University these scholarships fall under these different categories:

- Commencing International Student Accommodation Scholarship
- Endeavour scholarships
- Faculty of Science and Technology – Executive Dean Scholarship
Use your grant to cover expenses
A grant is a once-off supply of goods or equipment awarded to students to help them purchase equipment that they need in order to study.
These grants are awarded to students that are disadvantaged and can be used to purchase books, uniforms or a laptop that the student needs in order to complete the course. To assist students in their time of need Federation University offers a number of different financial resources and student loans.

Federation University - Apply online for a study grant
To apply for a bursary the student must register by completing the online Kickstart registration form. Each student that completes the student loan application will be eligible to be awarded a bursary. Bursaries are usually awarded to students that need financial assistance in order to complete their studies.
Grants
A grant is awarded to students who are struggling to pay for books and equipment that they may need in order to complete their course. To apply the student will need to complete the online Kickstart registration form. The student will be notified by e-mail if they qualify for a grant. To be eligible for a grant the student must:
- Be enrolled at a FedUni campus
- Studying for either an undergraduate degree or a bachelor's degree
There are grants available for the following:
- Book grants
- Nursing kit grants
- Placement grants
- Clothing grants
- Computer grants
- Development grants
- Specialist equipment grant
Students can apply for the grant that they need according to the course they are studying.
Government scholarships
The Australian Awards are International scholarships paid for by the Australian Government and are run by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) they aim to develop leadership in potential students and empower students to create a global network of talented people through their high-quality education experience in an Australian university.
International students are encouraged to apply for Kickstart and complete the online application. If the student qualifies for the bursary or any other grants then they will be notified once they have completed the Kickstart application.
